Is it OK to mix different smelling body washes and lotions?

I wear perfume every day but I don't always buy the body wash and lotions that go along with them. I don't want to smell weird if I mix, say a Caress tropical body wash with a Jergen's shea er lotion. My question is would I smell strange? Or would the perfume or body splash overpower it?
