My 17 yr. old daughter has a failing kidney and believes it's due to my neglecting her medically as a child.
Major issues: Lindsey was emancipated at 16(instigated by an older boy's family) and has been estranged from me long term, which I suspect is due to severe emotional trauma ually (strong evidence points to it) but has never revealed exactly what's wrong. Subsequently, I was not present to hear the news recently about her kidney, and am trying to get more info regarding both cause and prognosis. I'm hearing that it had something to do with my not tending to bladder infection(s) during her childhood that turned into a kidney infection which has done permanent damage to one of her kidneys. Could it be the presumed untreated bladder/kidney infections from youth (which she never mentioned during any medical appts growing up) that damaged the kidney or rather from a poorly developed (shriveled) kidney that's causing those on-going symptoms (bladder/kidney infections), in addition to blood in her urine? Also wondering about the bp medicine the MD put me on (Clonidine) while feeding.
