What size horse should I get?

I have a very good strategy for finding the "perfect fit." Basically, you should be about the same height as the horse's withers, and this is easy to see just by standing next to the horse. A few inches up or down won't make too much difference, but what will, and what you'll need to consider is the horse's build in relation to your own. If you are slight in size, you'll look smaller on a burly horse than a lean, lanky one, even if the burly horse is a few inches shorter. If you seem a little short for a horse on the ground, but you have a long leg in comparison to your body, you will look good on the horse. Basically, it depends on how you look on the horse, but I'd say you're shooting for the right size. Another breed you might consider that I've fallen in love with and is your size is a Connemara Pony.
